Birthday bike card

Yey, I won last weeks contest at the Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday! So nice, I almost never win anything.

Well, on to the card: we've bought the prettiest bike to our daughter for her 4th birthday. So I wanted to make a card with a bike on it... :-)

The bike stamp I'm using is from Hot of the Press, and for once I'm making a round card. I've previously borrowed the Big Shot from my friend Åsa, and made some scalloped circles that suited well. Since I wanted the bike to look like the real one, I'll use pink Distress markers. Did a test stamping first to see if the colors where right, painted directly on the stamp.

Since I'll enter the card at Skipping Stones color challenge I'll also add a bit of yellow.

I cut the slate colored circle to make the ground for the bike, and then stamped the bike on the right place on the bg. But the print was to pale, so I went over it with the markers once more.

Stamped Grattis with pink and pink embossing, and the sun from Hero Arts Bee Happy with yellow and embossed it with hologram. Filling it with another marker.

Finally added some butterflies from HA Good Fortune in two different pink shades.

And here is the finished card. Pretty close to the real thing, right?! ;-)

Birthday party invitations

Me and my soon to be 4-year old girl are making cards for her party next week. Wanted to use my new stamps from Hero Arts, so first I stamped the cotton candy and the party hat (masked it first) from the Life of the Party Birthday with Tuxedo black.

Then Nellie got to color the cotton candy with my new Distress markers (for once she got to use my pens ;-)).

Meanwhile I painted the Tiny flakes bg with red/pink markers and stamped it on a white card. Stamped twice on one inking to see the difference. After that I stamped the text with Tuxedo black.

I put the cotton candy on 3D foam, cropped it some, and glued the card on a pink base.

6th anniversary card

Ordered some new stuff, and wanted a card with a summer night feeling, so I used the Big & Juice sunset ink pad as a bg. Havn't quite gotten used to it yet, I felt it was hard to get a good coverage of the ink (tried with both brayer and bg stamp, but had to use it directly on the paper and press hard to make it work). But I tried to cover up the white spots by hand afterwards.

As a sentence I used the Live Laugh Love from Hero Arts L-set (CL012) with black ink. After that I sprayed the bg with water which made it blend together a bit more.

The girl and bench are The Greeting Farm's Sittin' Pretty. And the grass is from HA Be Happy (CL377). All inked with Memento Tuxedo black, colored with ProMarkers.

Finally mounted on a black card, and added some stickles on the earrings, hair pins and boot buckles (and eyes, but I removed most of that after it dried).

First shrink plastic session

A while ago I bought a shrink plastic set with black, white, clear and translucent papers. And more recently I bought a dvd with instructions, so I thought I'll give it a try.

The small firefly is already shrunken, and was stamped with black StazOn on the white plastic. Painted it with ProMarkers on the stamped side.

The ruler and the other firefly is made on translucent plastic, the ruler is hand-written with a permanent pen and already shrunken here. This firefly is stamped like the other, but painted on the back.

Since the translucent one lost its transparency after shrinking, I added some stickles on the wings.

I also made a heart on the black plastic by stamping with platinum StazOn, but didn't take a picture of it since it was a present for my husband.

Beaver amigurimi

I wanted to make a small present to our friends new baby, so I choose a sibling (pattern wise) to the pig I crocheted before.

Side view, shows the beaver tail.

Two new baby cards

A couple of friends got their second child, both boys. So I wanted to make a couple of cards with my Tilda baby set. Also wanted to use the embossed cardstock I made when Åsa was here. And I also found use for the Hero Arts Magical bg, this time watermark ink with hologram embossing.

The card to little Alfred, next to his beaver. Magical bg as table cloth, the congrats is a foam stamp (ink Memento Gray Flannel). Added a dashed line in white around the dark bluegray bg. Had an accident with the white pen, so I used my new Distress marker Stormy Sky to cover it up. Almost worked. ;-)

And this one hasn't been delivered yet, so I will not reveal who it's for. Magical bg as banner, and embossed green bg is made by me. The rest is Tilda cutouts, with some stickles on.
