New home card

I have been so busy with the website this month, that I almost missed the Hero Arts contest. But I wanted to make a card for my parents who have moved to a new flat. I wanted to use the free stamp that I got with Craft Stamper, and thought it would look great with the HA Woodgrain digi. So I got inspired by one of the design challenges, and made a bird home in a tree. Here is the stuff I used.

I first stamped the HA Houndstooth bg as a wallpaper, and then stamped the lamp and embossed it with gold. Then I restamped only the birds in pink. And stamped the Lycka till (Good luck) in pink with Hologram embossing powder.

Then I assembled the front with 3D-foam, and made the banner a bit more 3D. Fastened it with the brad at the center of the flowers. Here is a close-up.

And here is the finished card.

Creative weekend

This weekend has been packed with creative stuff. I've done practically everything except cards. Below you can see the lightbox I've made to take pictures in. It still misses a couple of strong spotlights though.

Then I've been updating my recipe site a bit, preparing it for the big redesign I'm planning for next weekend. Also started to add photos of the food, like this one below. And at the same time going though the recipe to check for errors.

I also finished the frame for the birth layout, so now it's finally on the wall. Grounded with gesso, and then added a couple of layers pink acrylic metallic paint. Finally I added the grey metallic on top.

Last but not least I made a new blog header and changed the design. Used Hero Arts and The Greeting Farm stamps, and then expanded the bg in Photoshop.

Birth scrapbooking

Finally I'm finished with the layout of my two daughters births. The cardstock is a light pink dotted one from Bazzill. Half a page for each girl, divided by the beautiful border from Heidi Grace Designs, matted by glitter paper. Those and the 3D cutout family was the initial ingredients, and then I stamped the largest flower from the Hero Arts Four flowers. On that I wrote the birth data for each girl. I blurred out the photos since they are a bit personal, but you can still see the design. :-)

Welcome Sophia!

This time I wanted to use a baby and some flowers from the 3D cutouts from Panduro for my friend's new baby. I also wanted to enter the card in the new design challenge at Skipping Stones Design.

For the strip I used my new Hero Arts Houndstooth bg, pink on pink. And for the card I used the other, Florentine Pattern, white on recycled paper. Also found a green scrap to have as baby bg.

Card with the scraps and flowers added.

And with the baby and the text Welcome on it. But the text got smudged, so I wanted to correct it somehow...

Adding the same white color pad over it made it a bit better, and then I took a pink pen and retyped the text. Also used some green stickles around the circle, and some pink at the flower centers. So here is the finished card! :-)

New stamps from Hero Arts

Ah, I finally recieved my stamps that I won in the December contest at Hero Arts. Here they are, and I also got the new catalogue. Which just makes me want to buy more... But maybe that's the point. ;-)

Well I hope that I will have time to ink them up soon.
